Picture Tag

I've been tagged!

Here is what you do: grab your camera and take at least 5 random pictures around your house. No cleaning up first, this is your house as is:
Here is some catergories you could use:
Room that stays the cleanest
Work in progress
What someone else is doing right now
Favorite decor or display
Something that represents your current life
Favorite relaxing spot
Something hand-me-down Etc. etc.
Hannah is creating. She hasn't given up on making Valentine's yet.
What do you do with all the shoes that pile up at the door? I feel like they are always right there. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if the door from the garage wasn't right into the kitchen then I wouldn't have the urge to put them away so often. They are just right there all the time. I need to find a better solution.
Here is my bathroom. It is one of the rooms I haven't decorated yet. The rugs and the towels don't even go together. I need to get some motivation to tackle this one but I am on a decorating dry spell.
This has been the purchase decision of the week. To buy or not to buy a new washer and dryer? They are really getting run down since they were a really cheap model because that was all we could afford. They are still working (sort of, they just sound really bad and take a long time to do anything). We have a friend that can get us new whirpool ones for wholesale price. I just don't know if I'm ready when I still could get another year or two out of them. But how do you pass up a really good deal on new ones?

My favorite relaxing spot.
One of my favorite rooms in the house because it feels so bright and springy (sp?) in there. She does a good job making her bed and keeping it clean so it is one room I don't have to worry about.

Jenn and Jana Richards - Tag, you are it.

I love . . .

In honor of Valentine's Day, 5 things I love:

1. My king size bed. It has been over a year since we got it, but I still get in and get that feeling like I couldn't live without it. The space is so nice when we end up with two extra bodies. It is also so nice to have a mattress that when you wake up you are not hurting.
2. Cookies and Cream kisses. This is my new find this week. I love them. They are dangerous for me because I could eat the whole family size bag myself.
3. My family. I am just in a really nice place right now. You know when you feel really peaceful about life. I have great kids who I love to be around and a great husband. We are just really happy right now, but then it gets you worried about when the next storm will come.
4. A good book or movie. It is so nice to be caught up in someone else's world for awhile. I am kind of on a dry spell right now. I need to find the next good book. Any suggestions? I am going to a movie tonight with a friend so hopefully it will be a good one.
5. Heath's new job. It has been so nice to have him around a little more this year. He is still gone a lot but not nearly as much as when he was coaching. He loves his job too which makes him happy and that spills over to the rest of us.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We're Kindergarten Ready!

Hannah had a wellness check-up with our favorite Dr. Wally today. He is the best doctor. He just makes them feel right at ease and gets them giggling. She got her shots for Kindergarten so we are now ready! She is so excited to go I don't know how she will wait another six months! I was really worried about her getting shots. I think even more then when they were a baby because at this age they know what a shot is. She did really well and didn't even cry until the last one when it stings a little bit, but then it was easy to calm her down. I am really thankful for healthy kids. Hannah has only had a few colds and fevers in her life. She is a very healthy kid. We really are lucky. I'm glad we are done with shots for her for quite awhile. Taking Hayden will be a whole different experience I'm sure.

One of Those Days

Hannah had an interesting moment with my mom yesterday. She was there while I was at dance. She loves to go there because my mom always has projects and fun things for them to do. They love their Grandma! They were making cookies and my mom turned to get something out of the fridge and she heard a scream. She turned and saw Hannah being pulled into the mixer. One of her ponytails was getting wrapped up in the turning part. Hannah doesn't function well in these kind of circumstances so I'm sure it was a little stressful for my poor mother. She stopped it but then had a hard time getting her hair unraveled. After thinking she might have to cut off one of the ponytails, she finally got it unstuck. Thanks mom for saving her hair. They had to start all over on the cookies because the eggs and butter were now all over in Hannah's hair. I'm just glad I didn't come and pick her up and see a brand new haircut.

The next crazy moment of the day was when Heath and I were going to bed about 11:00 and we heard Hayden crying and struggling to breath. I went and got him out of bed and he could not catch his breath. His poor lungs were working so hard. In between breaths he was saying, I can't breath. Someone help me. Then as a parent you are thinking to yourself, what do we do? Should we take him in? Where do you take him this time of the night? We tried to just stay up with him until about 1:00 but it wasn't getting any better so Heath finally took him into the ER. They gave him a breathing treatment and monitored him for a couple of hours. He has croup. We finally made it to bed about 4:00. We are all a little tired today. They say it is going around so if you hear the barking cough and are having a hard time breathing you will know what it is. Hopefully the perscription that they gave will help him so we don't have another one of those nights. It is so hard to see you kids sick and not know what to do for them.

Hooray!

I finished "spring" (that is what I call it even though it is winter) cleaning my house this weekend! I was so excited. I am so tired of scrubbing blinds, walls and baseboards. I know you will all understand what a big job this is. I can say my closets are clean for now. I'm sure in a couple of weeks it won't be that way. In fact, the rooms I started on first are already not quite as organized, but I guess that is what we expect. It is just nice to say it is done until next time. I will be glad to be back to just "normal" cleaning.

Hayden's Quote of the Day:
I loved what Hayden told me today. Here is what he said:
"Mom, I miss Jesus. I really miss him. I want to see him. How about if I leave my heart beating and my brains here then I could come back. I will go see him for a little bit and then I will come back to you."
You got to love those moments when you can tell they are really thinking and feeling something. It was also one of those moments when it was hard not to chuckle a little, but I knew I couldn't because he was serious about it. We had a nice conversation after that.
