Hayden loved Pitching Machine this year! It was a big difference from T-ball and he loved how it felt more like real baseball. His favorite thing to do was hit the ball. He was pretty good at it. He loved to play third base. Their team was pretty young this year so it was definately a learning year and they only won a few games. They had a lot of fun. Thanks Angie and Ruth for coaching!

Thornton Family Reunion 2012
We were in charge of the Thornton Family Reunion this year. We decided to try something new and went to Lava Hot Springs. It ended up being a lot of fun. I wasn't sure about the camp site having chosen it off the internet but it ended up working if you are just in tents. We had a whole are all to ourselves surrounded by trees and a great little creek. It was the perfect size for the kids to play in and they spent hours buildingall sorts of interesting things down there. Hayden called it "Cousin Creek" which I thought fit it well.
We also went to Lava Hot Springs pool one day and went tubing down the river. They were both really fun activities which the kids enjoyed. It was great to spend time together as a family and renew those cousin bonds. Thanks to everyone who took the time to come and here's to not being in charge for another five years!

A Baby Again!
We started this summer with a big surprise. We are pregnant with our fourth child. We were to the point of thinking three was great for our family. We had gotten rid of all the baby stuff in the house and arranged the rooms just so with our new finished basement. Then the surprise came. We are so excited to greet this new addition around February. The kids were so excited when they heard they couldn't help but tell everyone they knew. They are determined it is a boy. For now, I am just dealing with all the sickness that it brings and knowing how busy four kids will be. Each one is such a blessing and we are excited for this new adventure.

Cress Creek Hike
We have been trying each week to do some fun different activities this summer. This was a fun one. I had never hiked Cress Creek before but it was a great kid-friendly hike. We had a great time even though it was a little hot when we went. The kids loved playing in the creek in the end and that made it all worth it. It was nice to stop at Heise on the way home and enjoy a pizza. We love summer.

Hogle Zoo
| We had a great time at the Hogle Zoo this year. Chloe was just the right age to really enjoy all the animals. |
This polar bear was our favorite part. He was such a show-off. He would swim right up to the glass and do a back flip and then back float for a bit. Then he would repeat it all over again. The kids had a great time watching him.
