Thornton Family Reunion at Granite

We had a great time last week going to one of my favorite camping spots for our Thornton Family Reunion. Granite Hot Springs is a place we went every year when I was a kid and we looked forward to it so much. It holds a lot of good memories. It was so fun to go back and great to see family that I haven't seen for awhile. My kids had a great time playing, hiking, swimming, rafting, eating, and hanging out with cousins. I had a great time watching them do it. Heath rented us a trailer so that I was in a lot more comfort being up there.

This is natural hot springs so the water is pretty warm. They had a great time swimming.

This is a picture of our boat on one of the trips down. Hayden actually went down the whole stretch this time and had a pretty good time besides the water being too cold. Hannah went half way down and got out before the waves were big. I think she is almost brave enough to do it. They had a great time. They only lost a few people out of the boat this time.Thanks Laura for planning a great reunion. It was a great summer adventure.

We love Swimming Lessons!

Hannah and Hayden had a great time at swimming lessons this year. I finally felt like it was a year where they actually made a lot of progress. Hayden is really swimming well across a lot of the pool by himself. Hannah is great at floats and arm circles she just still doesn't like to get her face wet. Both of their teachers were great.

Today was diving board day. Hayden couldn't decide whether to do a dive or yell cannonball. He went for the dive. I think it was pretty good form and he gave his parents a little chuckle at his absolute no fear of water.

Hannah is a little more timid. She was a little nervous to jump but was determined to do it. I think she would have jumped by herself but she didn't dare tell her teachers that. They were nice to help her anyway.

We had so much fun I think we will sign up again in August. It will be nice when they are both swimming on their own confidently.

Summer Catch-Up

I have been a little behind on blogging lately so I thought I would do a quick catch-up of our summer. It has been a little slow due to all these darn contractions but we are managing to fit in a little fun. The kids always seem to find fun wherever they go - especially playing with all the neighborhood kids non-stop. Heath has had to learn to slow down a little this summer because of my lack of being able to go anywhere and that has been a little different for him. I am getting use to laying around all the time but will be so glad when this sweet little baby comes so I can resume normal activity. Does that happen with a new baby?

A June full of T-ball games. We had fun watching how much they learned this year. They loved playing and had a fun team full of cousins. Thanks Rachel for doing a great job coaching. Independence Day celebrations started with a neighborhood BBQ, a Thornton family BBQ, watching the parade, a BBQ with the Jackson family, and patiently waiting to watch the fireworks. We didn't go to our normal spot to watch the fireworks because I was unable to walk that far but they were great just the same. I love this time of the year and the time spent with family and the yummy food we get to eat.
Heath took the kids to Montana this weekend to watch Cody play football. I knew being in the car that long would really start my contractions so I get to stay home and rest- lucky me. It is really quiet around here without them. But July should be filled with swimming lessons, family reunions, redecorating the baby and Hannah's room, girls camp and whatever else we can manage to fit in before Heath goes back to work. I love summer but am so happy to finally be on week 30 come Monday. Happy Summer everyone!
