Summer 2013

We have had a fun, busy summer! (Maybe that is why the blog posts have been non existent! ) The older two go back to school in four days so we are trying to finish up our summer bucket list. One thing left on the list was a shaving cream fight. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Chloe turned three!

She was so excited all day long. We went around the river, played at the park and had lunch at Mickey Donalds.

We had the Thornton Family reunion. We just stayed in Idaho Falls this summer. We had fun boating-  well until we broke the window on the boat. The reunion was filled with sleepovers, good food and conversation, ijump, night games, smores, and a trip to Ribgy lake.

We were able to spend a week in Boise for Heath's work. We went to a water park, walks down the river, swam a lot at the pool, tour of the Capital, and to Heath's award luncheon. It was great to see him receive the award for the State of Idaho Assistant Principal of the Year.
We accomplished lots of things on our summer bucket list. Number one on the list was for Hayden and I to hike table rock. We did it and had a great time. We came home tired, scratched up and sunburnt but would do it again in a second. It was a great day.

Laramie got married! We were so excited to participate in all of these festivities. The girls looked beautiful in their dresses - especially Laramie. It was great to catch up with family too. We were excited to welcome Melvin and Isaiah to the family.

We have had many trips rafting down the river. Hayden has become a pro at doing it. Chloe and Hannah made it down half way. Still too cold of water for this old mom.
We had a fun day trip to Jackson. We did a bungee tramp, saw the tetons, rock climbed, and a rode a tram to the top of the mountain. It was an awesome day.
We had fun celebrating the fourth of July with the normal traditions of the parade, water party at Grandpa Jackson's and the fireworks that night.
Chloe got her tonsils out. She was a trooper and actually healed pretty quickly.
We love summer but are also excited for school to start.

Birthdays, cute girls, and surgery

 Happy 9th Birthday, Hannah!
She had an all out week long celebration. It started with a cake and Grandma Thornton's. She was spoiled with a game and shirt from them and money from the Thompson's. She couldn't wait for Friday to come for her friend party. When she came home from school, we had it all decorated. She had planned a pj's and pancake late night with a pancake/bacon bar, hot chocolate bar and movie bar.
She invited 14 girls and all came but one. We had a lot of girls here! We had a great time. The ate, decorated mugs, played red rover, opened gifts, danced and giggled a lot.

They wore their pj's and silliest socks. We gave them a sock cupcake with treats and fingernail polish as a gift.

Aunt Laramie came over and gave them a spa treatment. They got to soak their feet and then they either got their nails or toes painted. She had some cool art she put on them. It was so fun. They finished the night with a movie and more food. It really was a fun party.
She was so excited to turn nine the next day. Her dad took her to Smitty's for breakfast. She came home and opened presents where she got clothes, a swimsuit and her own blowdryer.
Her dad gave her $20 and so I took her to the mall to spend it. She was in heaven having that much money to spend. She spent most of it at Claire's and Justice - just not on clothes. She just wanted the fun stuff they have near the register. Then the two of us went out to Carino's. She was so happy that I didn't have a list of things to do for her that day and that she got to watch TV as much as she wanted.
The next day we had a Cinco de Mayo celebration food with the Jackson side. We celebrated Laynee, Hannah, and Laramie birthdays. We had a great time and the food was delicious.
She finished her week by celebrating it at school. Her teacher sent home a bag she had to fill up with stuff about her. She also brought cupcakes to share. Chloe and I went and had lunch with her.

These cute girls just enjoy all the fun around them. Kinley is realy smiling a lot and just loves all the attention she gets. She is so good to just hang out and enjoy the fun.
Hannah even gave her a fun new look.
Hayden didn't have as great of a weekend because he had to get his tonsils out. They were aggravating his allergies and large which was causing sleep issues. He was a little nervous to have it done but he did a great job with it. It was hard watching him come out of anethesia because he couldn't stop coughing and he was in a lot of pain. He just wanted a lot of popsicles. It has taken him five days to get somewhat back to normal.
The only good thing about being so sick is that you get to lay around and miss school and watch as many movies as you want. The ice cream isn't so bad either but he is really craving pizza, steak and chips. He finally made it back to a half day of school today and is going to try a whole day tomorrow.

Heath and Hannah

We were so excited to find out that after being nominated and a long interview process, Heath was chosen to be the State of Idaho's Assistant Prinicpal of the Year. We know he definately deserves this award for all the hard work he puts in each day. I have seen him go the extra mile with a lot of different students and faculty. The school put together a surprise for him one day after school and we got to come over.
They gave him a nice picture and a had a cake. It was so nice to see the support from the school.
Hannah had her end of year recital. It was at the piano gallery and she played Hedwig's Theme. She did an excellent job and is really developing a great talent.

Easter, Fools, and Conference

It was Easter weekend the same weekend as the blessing/baptism so we got to have all the fun with extra family here. We love the annual egg hunt at grandma's.
Chloe hasn't had a hard boiled egg in awhile. She rediscovered that she loved them and ate four in a row.
 Having fun coloring the eggs.
Easter baskets the next morning. The Easter bunny didn't hide them hard enough. They found them way to quickly and sadly the one picture I took is very blurry.
Hannah and Hayden were determined to play some jokes on April fool's day. It isn't my favorite holiday but I thought I better join in on the fun so that they had some jokes on them not just dishing them out. They awoke to these cute mustaches on their faces. At first they didn't think it was very funny, but got into the spirit of it when they saw they would wash off. I couln't help giggling when I was drawing it on their faces and they didn't budge.

We have been trying to eat healthier around our home. One way is to have a green smoothie in the morning. Chloe loves her's and enjoyed sporting her smoothis mustache.
The cute kiddos getting ready to listen to conference.
