July 2015

We started out the month with a great 4th of July. We went to the parade, a bbq at Jackson's, the Huls spent the weekend and ended it with fireworks at the river. We love this holiday!

Then we left to Soda Springs for a week stay at a great cabin there with Cody's family, the Beck's and the Sargents. We had so much fun spending time together. The kids get a long so great. It was so fun hanging out there, playing games, laughing and talking. Sleep was short but there was so much to do.

We hiked, 4-wheeled, played in the water, fished, rode a zip line and played in the clubhouse.

Hayden caught an awesome fish in the pond.
Hannah and Hayden learned how to drive the 4 wheelers and spend a lot of time on them. The trails were great for beginners.
The cabin had it's own zip line. Everyone loved it except Hayden. His first time down he fell off of it and did a backflip going pretty fast. We were lucky he wasn't hurt worse than he was. He ended up with a pretty big cut on his head, a concussion, the wind knocked out of him, and cuts and scrapes. It made the week a not so fun for him.

We were also able to go to Bear Lake. We love it there. We were lucky the rain stayed away. The sand is so fun to play in. We brought the banana and the kids loved that. We had paddle boards and canoes. It was a great day.

Mt. Rushmore

We were so excited to take a roatrip to South Dakota. We put on 1600 miles in the car, spent a lot of time together. Laughed, ate, looked at beautiful scenery and played hard. It was a great trip!
We first drove through Grand Teton National park and Yellowstone. It was fun to stop and see all of the sites there. It is some of the most beautiful lakes and mountains in the world.

We ended up in Cody where we went to the mural church, saw lots of deer, took a break at a park and drove more to Gillett, Wy. We were so glad to get to the hotel that night and a pool. It was a great day of driving.
The next morning we went to Devil's Tower. We loved the prairie dog town and the hike in the rain around the mountain. It really was a cool site to see.

After a quick tour or Sturgis, we were excited to once again get to our hotel. It had a waterpark and we spend a lot of time there that day.
The next morning we went to the Jewel Cave.

It was a awesome trip down 300 ft in the ground. It was really fun walking around it. Kinley fell asleep so my mom got quite the workout holding her up all of those stairs.
We finally made it to Mt. Rushmore. We loved seeing it. It is so impressive to see what they created. We loved the hike around, the flags and especially the ice cream.

We walked around Keystone that afternoon and then went to Chucky cheese for dinner. Chloe decided we should eat there everynight.
We spent lots more time in the waterpark, went back to Mt. Rushmore, rode up a tram to top of a hill that overlooked the mountain. The best part was the alpine slide down.

We then drove home through Montana and stopped at the Battle of Little Bighorn which is Custards last stand. We were amazed at how great the kids were, how well they rode in the car and how well they got a long. It was a great time.

End of the School Year 2015

May is always a busy, fun time of the year. Everyone has programs and fun adventures at school. Chloe ended her preschool year with a program. She worked hard to learn her part and did a great job. She will miss Ms. Joy preschool and neighborhood playgroups but she is so excited for Kindergarten next year.

Choe got to be a princess ladybug again this year. She loved getting her shirt and visor. She loves hanging out with her friends. She loves being part of a team. She loves her coach Trent. She loves snacks after the game and icees. She tolerates the game.

Hayden participated in a Idaho History program. He did a great job. He worked really hard on his project and was excited to share it. He also got to go on a field trip, rendevous, and field day. He loved Mrs. Mortimer but is super excited for 5th grade with Mrs. Weller.

He had a great baseball season. They worked hard, he hit hard and loves the game. His team won some and lost a lot but it was always fun to watch if they could get a game in with all the rain we had this spring.
Hannah had a great end of the year. She finished gymnastics and volleyball. She graduated from DARE. She was brave enough to participate in the bike challenge and ride to Iona. She had great grades. She will miss Mr. Weller but is super excited to be the oldest in the school being a 6th grader. She played hard the last day of school with a water party, trip to the sand dunes and a late night with Hailee and Livy. They made cookies and dressed up like the cookie bandits to secretly deliver them.
This little one was a trooper and made it to everything with a smile on her face.

We started summer off right with a boat to the lake, A hike with the Thompson's, lots of cleaning, classes for mom, finishing work for dad, babysitting for Hannah and enjoying time with family and friends.
